Some of you may wonder why we each wear a gold band on our
wedding finger – as shown in the picture. Well, let’s backtrack a little and explain the story of the three rings.
When Dad was diagnosed with brain cancer, Mum and Dad knew
that he was terminal. They went for many walks to talk things through, such funeral arrangements and wishes for our future; after everything had been
spoken about, Mum and Dad left it all in the past and focused on trying to help
Dad beat the cruel cancer.
One
of Dad’s wishes was for his & Mum’s wedding rings to be melted down and
joined to make three wedding bands for his three girls. That way, we would
always have a part of Dad to hold with us, forever.
After Dad had passed away, Birmingham
Jewellery Quarter kindly engraved the bands with “Tracey Paul” on Mum’s and “Daddy”
on ours.
We will always treasure these rings.
